About

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Johns Hopkins University. I am affiliated with the Baltimore Education Research Consortium, the Hopkins Population Center, and the Institute for Data-Intensive Engineering and Science. I received my PhD from the University of Chicago and was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Population Studies and Training Center at Brown University. When I arrived at Hopkins I held a joint appointment with the School of Education. In 2023, I transitioned to a full-time appointment in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.

My research focuses on the social and spatial structures that shape educational opportunity.
